CBSE Class 10th syllabus- Everything you need to know

Class 10th is the first milestone in the life of a student. It is the very first time they appear for their boards. The shift from class 9th is quite notable in terms of not only study material and preparation but also the marking scheme and the maturity of students towards the year. The sudden weight of each passing day can be easily seen among students as they manage to juggle between their studies and co-curriculars. With the competition increasing ten folds over the past few years ( and will continue so), the anxiety to score better is quite ubiquitous among them.

But where do we begin?

This is probably the most complex yet the most answered question anywhere. Each person has their own experience and their own tips and tricks to crack the examination. While what may work for one student, may not simply work for their peer and that is entirely OKAY!

We understand the concern and so in this article, we have guided you towards the very first step- the one that each student must doSyllabus Analysis.

Analysis of CBSE Class 10 Syllabus 2022-23

Yes, you read that right. The syllabus that the Central Board Of Secondary Education releases each year can be your key to success in the exams. This is the most important yet the most frequently missed step. Often the students of class 10th, in the excitement and zeal of the examination just commence with their preparation. They are not aware of the weightage of each chapter or even if the topic that they are studying is still included in the syllabus.

It is crucial for the students to stay updated with all the developments in their syllabus by the boards. It is quite essential to analyze the syllabus first and then begin with the preparation.

What is Syllabus Analysis?

 Syllabus Analysis includes:

  1. Primarily making a list of all the topics and subtopics that are included in the syllabus. Make sure that you have struck off all the unnecessary topics and subtopics as well so that you do not waste your time preparing things that won’t count.
  2. Then, take note of the weightage of each chapter and the most asked topic from each chapter. This is to ensure that during revision you can revise the most important topics first. You can also make more efforts in the conceptual understanding that are more important with respect to the examination.
  3. This will help you in further planning and organizing your study sessions and dividing the preparation time for each subject accordingly.
