CTET 2022 Selection Process
Once the candidates have taken the test, they will be shortlisted based on their scores in the online exam. Since CTET is only an eligibility test, just passing the test or securing good marks does not really guarantee the candidate a government job. The shortlisted candidates have to apply to different schools for the recruitment process to begin. However, the vacancies require CTET certification, wherein it is mandatory to score at least 60% marks.
What is the exam pattern for CTET 2022?
The CTET exam is conducted in two rounds; Phase 1 and Phase 2
While the first phase is for those candidates who wish to teach from classes 1st to 5th, the second paper (paper 2) is for those who want to teach from classes 6th to 8th.
The candidates can either apply for both papers or apply for a single one. The Application Fees will be paid accordingly.
Candidates must secure at least 60 percent marks to pass the exam.
The questions will be based on
- TWO compulsory language subjects,
- Child development and pedagogy
- Environmental Studies
- Mathematics
Thus, there will be a total of 5 subjects, each comprising 30 marks.
Hence, there are a total of 150 questions, each of 1 mark. Thus, the paper is 150 marks.
Wondering what type or standard of questions is asked in the exam?
It’s okay, we got you!!
The questions based on language subject 1 will be developed to test the proficiency of the candidate in that language. Meanwhile, Language Subject 2 will focus on testing the command of the candidate on the elements of the subject, its comprehension, and communication abilities.
Candidates are advised to choose the language in which they are proficient from the list of alternatives available. There are 20 alternatives available and hence the subject should be chosen wisely.
The questions based on Mathematics and Environmental Studies will test the conceptual understanding of the subjects, the problem-solving skill, and the pedagogical understanding of the candidate.
