Adjective – English Grammar

Adjectives are words that modify or describe nouns or pronouns. They provide additional information about the noun or pronoun they modify, such as its size, color, shape, or quality.

Types of Adjectives:

Descriptive Adjectives: These adjectives describe the qualities, characteristics, or attributes of nouns.

  • Examples:
    1. The beautiful flowers bloomed in the garden.
    2. She wore a red dress to the party.
    3. The tall man stood at the front of the line.
    4. He has a round face and curly hair.

Demonstrative Adjectives: These adjectives indicate specific nouns by pointing them out.

    6. That house on the corner is for sale.

Quantitative Adjectives: These adjectives indicate the quantity or number of nouns.

Possessive Adjectives: These adjectives show ownership or possession.

Interrogative Adjectives: These adjectives are used to ask questions about nouns.

    3. Whose bag is this?

    5. Which book did you choose?
    6. What color is your new car?
    7. Whose turn is it to clean the kitchen?
