Amanda Class 10 Notes

This poem is about a girl named Amanda. The poet keeps scolding and instructing her. He asks her not to bite her nails and not to drop her shoulders and sit straight. On the other hand, the girl imagines that she is a mermaid in the calm green sea and she is roaming in it happily. The poet then asks her if she has finished her homework and cleaned her room. He asks her not to eat chocolates as she is having pimples on her face. The girl then imagines that she is an orphan and roaming in the street on the soft dust. She imagines that she is free and alone in a tower. She thinks that she is not anxious. The poet then again advises the girl not to remain gloomy. Otherwise people will think that he has rebuked her.
